Northbridge Pool and landscaping, Sydney

One of the greatest challenges on a sloping site is to transition from the living areas without compromising aesthetics in favour of function.

In this multi award-winning Northbridge landscape project, the use of floating concrete stairs has provided our clients with a stunning outlook from their living spaces while doubling as clear access to the large level lawn and fully renovated pool area.

Curved corten walls, designed to create level, casual pause spaces amongst lush green surroundings, have allowed the home owners total use of the garden across all seasons.

Lindfield, Sydney Pool and landscaping

After our client completed their house renovation 5 years earlier, Fifth Season Landscapes were approached to design and build a new concrete swimming pool, outdoor entertaining area and reimagine the planting palette. The overarching brief was to immerse the pool and all built structures within the garden and continue the seamless flow between the interior and outdoor living spaces. Our clients comments sum it up for us “I love the tactile nature of our garden. Feeling the blackbutt timber decking boards under my bare feet and touching the cool polished concrete bbq benchtop and the Spanish limestone clad feature wall. There are elements of copper, timber and of course soft plantings that give an earthiness and natural feeling when you walk throughout the property.”

Roseville, Pool and landscaping Sydney

Symmetry, balance and challenging construction techniques are just some of the elements required to bring this circular pool project to life.

When our past clients approached us to take on Stage 2 of their Roseville garden the focus was on how to create a new and fun pool with a resort feel for their young family to enjoy. The idea of circular pool was discuss early in the concept design stage and with the clients request to “run with it” our design department went to work on designing the best solution for this unique space, keeping in mind CDC regulations as well as function, access, surrounding views, existing garden and proximity to existing mature trees. The end result speaks for itself.

Design Consultation

Fee Information: $250 +GST

This stage will involve a site visit to discuss ideas and options for your garden design, including swimming pool or spa, outdoor entertaining and/or cooking areas, planting styles, preliminary finishes, connection to existing spaces and internal living etc. We will also talk through your budget for the project and the best way to manage this through design and construction.

After the initial site visit you will be supplied with a design fee proposal. The design fee proposal will consist of a design brief developed from discussions during the consultation.

STAGE 1
– Design Concept

Following acceptance of the design fee proposal we will then begin work on the concept design package which includes the items listed below. During this process we will look to address all items within the brief, along with any other specific requests, in order to ensure the final concept meets both design brief and budget. We will also determine whether the project requires any approvals, and if so what type of approval (eg. CDC or DA).

STAGE 2
– Design Development + Detailing

Design development and detailing involves the preparation of construction drawings to refine the concept plan and detail finishes for the project. This stage includes drawings and specifications for the key construction elements along with the specification of all material selections and a meeting to review and approve all of these items to finalise the construction estimate.

STAGE 3
– Approval Drawings

This stage will come about if the development requires approval through either council (Development Application) or a private certifier (Complying Development Consent). In the case of a DA we will need to design your landscape area in accordance with the local councils DCP, we will also be required to supply extra drawings and documentation to support the DA submission. A CDC requires the landscape design to strictly comply with the state legislated Complying Development code, and a number of detailed drawings and documents will need to be prepared in order to clearly explain this to the private certifier engaged to approve the works. As part of this stage we may need to engage other professionals depending on the elements of the design and the council requirements for your area.

Initial site consultation will cost $250+GST. During this meeting we will discuss a design fee proposal – including a detailed design brief and the associated costs involved with the concept stage. We will also provide you with information relating to the costs of the remaining stages of the design project, which are dependant on the scale, complexity and required approvals involved in completing your landscape design.

Pool Design & Construction

Yes. The Fifth Season Design Team will design a pool that is integrated into the wider landscape within your premises. The design of a good pool has to consider style, aesthetic, scale, aspect, material and product selection.

During the pool design stage, the details of your pool are created based on your wants, needs and budget – combined with our nous for pool design and construction. This will include size, shape, step design and swim-outs as well as spas, water features and material finishes.

Yes. As fully licensed pool builders, we proudly construct all pools with our in-house professional team. We design and build in conjunction with the surrounding landscaping works. Not only does this compress the construction time but you’ll get one dedicated Site Manager, and one set of construction plans – for both pool and landscaping. This eliminates compromising due to crossover.

As with our Landscape Construction, you will be allocated a Construction Manager for your pool and landscaping project. This Manager will be the only point of contact you will require for the entire project – managing everything, including the timeline.

Our pool quotes will include ALL essential items to meet current Australian Standards. This includes all certification and the associated planning / documentation, engineering, supply of tiles and pavers materials, pool fencing and power supply to pool equipment. Getting you in the pool faster, with a lot less effort.
